Education:

  • Pancyprian Commercial Lyceum of Larnaca, 1949 – 1953.

  • American Academy of Larnaca, 1953 – 1955.

  • Millfield School, Somerset, England, 1955 – 1956.

  • Graduated from Indiana University School of Business with B.Sc in General Business Administration, 1960.

  • Italian literature at the University of Trieste, Italy, 1960 – 1961.

 

Profession:

Shipping & Tourist Agent since 1961.

 

Activities:

  • Founding Member of the Trieste-Cyprus Chamber of Commerce.

  • Was for several years a member of the Board of Cyprus American Association.

  • Past member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers.

  • Past member of the board of the Cyprus Shipping Association.

 

Consul:

  • Appointed as Italian Honorary Vice-Consul, 1967.

  • Elevated to the rank of Honorary Consul, 1983.

 

Member of Parliament:

  • Elected as the Representative of the Latin-Catholic Community in the House of Representatives in 1991, 1996, 2001 and 2006.

  • Member of the Parliamentary Commission for Education.

  • Member of the Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Education for private schools.

  • Participated in the Convention of Parliamentarians of Italian origin in Rome in 2000.

 

Honorary Distinctions:

  • Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic( Cavalliere), 1975.

  • Officer of the Order of Merit (Cavalliere Ufficiale), 1981.

  • Commendatore of the Republic of Italy, 1988.

  • Knight of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher, 1996.

  • Knight Commander of the Order of St. Gregory the Great, 1998.

  • Golden Medal of the Pilgrim, 2001.

  • Grande Ufficiale of the Republic of Italy, 2003.

 

Publications:

In November 2007 he published his first children’s’ book “Chico and his adventures” in Greek, the second book “Chico and the extraterrestrials” will be published in May 2008 followed by additional books already written and will be published. The books have moral teachings for children and are educationally related to various countries.
