The Role of the Representative of the Latin Community

The Constitution of the Republic of Cyprus recognizes the three Religious Groups and defines the right for the religious groups to have one Parliamentary Representative in the House of Representatives.

The Representative elect every five years, the day of Parliamentary Elections for the new members of Parliament. The members of the Religious Groups vote twice, one for their Parliamentary Representative and also for the Members of the Parliament who represent the political parties.

The Representative is not a politician. The role of the Representative is to perform the duties as the link between the members of the Community and the Government. Also represents and presents the Community to seminars, lectures and seminars.
