Anthony J.G. Pietroni



  • Born in Cairo, Egypt 02/02/1913.
  • Graduated Law in Paris. He was enrolled as an advocate in Cyprus in 1934.
  • From 1940 to 1943 he served with the Cyprus Volunteer Force, reaching the rank of Major.
  • In 1943 he became a director and later Chairman of O.G. Chakarian Ltd., agents in Cyprus for Imperial Chemical Industries and of many other British and European manufacturers.
  • At the independence of Cyprus in 1960, he became a member of the Greek Communal Chamber and subsequently was elected to the House of Representatives as member for the Latin community (1960-1976).
  • He represented Cyprus at the Second Vatican Council in 1965.
  • In 1966 he was invested as a Knight Commander of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre.
  • In 1990 he was invested as Knight Commander of the Order of St. Gregory the Great.
  • He passed away on 13 March 1998.
